Freedom to Discover
Ten medical researchers and their institutions were forever changed this winter when they were awarded grants of 500,000 thousand dollars from the Freedom to Discover Grant Program. Since its inception 26 years ago, the program has given over 100 million dollars in grants to over 150 institutions in 23 different countries. 16 Nobel Laureates are among the recipients. Over the years, the money from these grants has contributed to new findings in AIDS, drug addiction, diabetes, cancer
and other diseases.
