Cambodian Landmine Victims

Cambodia - Circle of Life introduces us to the Cambodian Paralympic Volleyball Team and the Joom Noon ("Gift of Hope") cooperative silk weaving project. Both are rehabilitative programs for Cambodian amputees, programs of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (VVAF). This work-in-progress explores what exists for a people who are trying to rebuild their bodies and their lives amid the lurking devastation of land mines. Cambodia - Circle of Life brings us face to face with athletes and artisans who are dealing with wars leftovers, yet these individuals seem to be anything but victims. This is about transformation. Living everyday with devastation still buried all around them, they are building a future full of promise for themselves, for their children and for Cambodia. Produced by Sean Newey. TRT 3:40
